About Us

Chris Elder began his building career in 2002 in Austin Texas with a focus on customer satisfaction and creative design. Chris named his first construction business after his kids Luke and Parker Elder (Luke Parker Homes). This initial business was a springboard into what is now known as Chris Elder Custom Homes. Since 2002, Chris has built over 53 Custom Homes in the Central Texas area ranging from $180,000- $800,000. Chris' wife Wendy Elder has been a crucial part of the business by adding the female touch to the design and layout of each home. In addition to design, she has also held her Real Estate License for over 17 years and has assisted in the marketing and contract negotiations in over 50 transactions. By overseeing each project from land acquisition to warranty, the processes used by Chris Elder Custom Homes have been refined to maximize quality and productivity, and to minimize overall cost.

The Elder Family

While focusing on custom clients, Chris Elder Custom Homes has also developed multiple investor relationships and partnered in building many speculative homes and investment properties which all yielded a positive return, even in the most recent economic downturn. (Learn more about Investment Opportunities.) The origin of incorporating speculative homes as a large piece of our business model began with Chris’ background in finance and real estate market analysis. It is the cornerstone that enabled custom clients to save thousands on their most important investment.

All phases of construction, from permitting to landscaping, are implemented by professionals in each field. Architects, Structural Engineers, Slab Engineers, Truss Engineers, and City/County Inspectors are paid to ensure that each project complies not only with the governing building code, but above and beyond the standards mandated in both energy efficiency and structural integrity.

Over the years, refining the subcontractors and suppliers used for every phase of construction has been a primary focus. By analyzing the efficiency of each subcontractor based on quality, cost, and delivery of service, an excellent list of subcontractors and suppliers has developed.
